Our story

Two friends, one yard, properly seasoned wood.

T & H Logs started with two friends from West Sussex, a green oak joiner and a touring musician, and one shared instinct that the local market was missing properly seasoned firewood.

A green oak joiner and a touring musician. One shared standard.

We're Josh and Tom, two friends from West Sussex. Josh is a green oak joiner by trade, Tom is a touring musician. Different worlds, same instinct that says do a job properly or don't do it at all.

A few years back we saw a gap in the local market. Customers were paying premium prices for wet wood, and constantly being let down with late or no-show deliveries. We wanted to make a change.

So we started T & H Logs. We process every log in house with old-but-gold equipment that just gets the job done. We take real pride in watching woodland-extracted timber turn into a neat stack of properly seasoned logs that fuel our customers' fires the following winter.

In the spring of 2026 we expanded the team, welcoming Callum, Alex and Lewis to join our venture, and we relocated our operation to Wisborough Green. Here we aspire to grow and improve our service, and meet new customers along the way.

What we stand for

Three rules we don't break for anyone.

Real provenance

Every log can be traced back to local woodland. We don't repackage wholesale wood and we don't import.

Properly dried

We take great pride in supplying properly seasoned firewood. We're constantly monitoring our stocks year round, to ensure our wood is under 20% moisture and provides a good, hot burn.

No mid-season hikes

Cold snaps don't change what a log costs. Our pricing will always remain sensible and competitive.

The yard

A look around where the work happens.

Most of our customers never see the yard. Here's a glimpse of what goes into every bag that lands on your driveway.

From tree to fire

One year. One bag of logs.

Why properly dried hardwood doesn't happen in a hurry, and why it's worth the wait.

01

Felled in winter

Hardwood is at its driest in the winter months. Most of our wood is dropped between autumn and spring when the sap is down.

02

Processing in the yard

Timber is bought in on the lorry and neatly stacked. From here we load it into our firewood processors, where it's cut and split into stove-friendly lengths. Old-but-gold kit that just keeps doing the job. Anything substandard is set aside to fuel our kiln furnace in the winter.

03

Traditionally seasoned

Once the logs are split, any shards or sawdust are separated in our trommel cleaner, then the logs are stored in cages and vented bags with plenty of air movement. The wind and a full summer's heat dry our firewood beautifully.

04

Kiln-finished

A final week in the kiln ensures any residual moisture is baked out of the logs. We test every batch before it's bagged and out for delivery.
